London has always been on my list since I have so many friends living in the Big Smoke. I conveniently schedule London to fall over my birthday as I wanted to celebrate amongst some familiar faces. Although, I’m really not a birthday person. I’d rather just quietly welcome in the new year and deny the fact that I’m getting old.
Looking back on my few days in London, I realized that I hardly did anything. And you know what? I don’t regret sleeping in late and taking a nap in the afternoons. After Morocco and dealing with a cold, sleep sounded fantastic. Sometimes you get tired of traveling and just want semblance of “home” life.
I did get out and enjoy the cold, questionable weather of London. I stayed with my good friend from home whom I haven’t seen in a year. It was great catching up with him and swapping travel stories. On his day off he took me on a walking tour of the city pointing out significant buildings and monuments. Our few hour walk quickly turned into an all day affair that left our feet tired after over 11 miles of walking.
Most of my London photos are still on my camera. Someday I will have time to edit them (and the 2,000+ photos I’ve taken thus far). I just don’t think my poor computer can handle that much data at the moment. Did I mention it crashed last week in Krakow and I had to beg the computer people to fix it in one day? Thankfully they did and my hard drive was fine. Talk about a major panic attack!
Without further ado, here are a few London photos to tide you over for now.
