That One Time I Became a Model in Australia…

In Australia, Northern Territory by Katelyn1 Comment

I will admit, one of my guilty pleasures is America’s Next Top Model.

But, I’ve never thought I would be the one to become a model in Australia.

During my short stay in Alice Springs, I noticed a sign in the Alice Springs YHA hostel looking for models for an upcoming photo shoot for the hostel website. In exchange for becoming one of the faces of the hostel, you’d get a free 7-night YHA hostel package and a year-long YHA/HI hostel membership.

I was sold.

With an upcoming road trip on the Great Ocean Road, free nights at the YHA hostels was a great deal!

Next thing I knew, I was smiling, posing, and laughing in front on the camera all day long.

We took some pretty cheesy pictures, but at the end of the day, it was a lot of fun. One of the guys was actually from New Hampshire so we bonded on our New England roots and another girl joined one of my Darwin tours a week later.

While I don’t plan on pursuing modeling anytime soon, it’s fun to say that I was a model in Australia. Time to add that to my resume!

And if you don’t believe me, check out the Alice Springs YHA hostel website!

If you need a professional photographer in Alice Springs then I highly recommend Nick Pincott Photography. It was a lot of fun to work with Nick and he takes amazing photos.
